Miss Universe 2002 Predictions

This year more than 10 ladies deserve a spot in the semifinals...here are my picks for 13-15.

13.) Ukraine: Liliana Gorova has one of the sweetest faces of all the delegates.  Her beauty has always appealed to me but I think she is missing some quality. I think she also lacks catwalk skills but that’s just an observation from photos. I do hope they make room for her somewhere.

14.) Nicaragua: Marianela Mendoza is another photogenic beauty.  Several photos I have seen of her are just top notch.  I just don’t think she did well enough in the preliminary competition to deserve a place in the top 10. Then again like I have said there just isn’t any more room in the ten for her. If they call a surprise delegate, count her to be it!
 

15.) Spain: From what I gather from the Miss Spain website Vania Millan wasn’t supposed to compete at the Miss Universe this year. That could be why she doesn’t seem prepared enough, compared to the delegates her country has sent over the last few years. Though I do like her long gown her beauty does not stand out.

 
Other chance possibilities (These aren't my picks just delegates who might also have a chance of making it)  :

China: The Miss Universe Pageant has really been kind to first comers. Botswana (99) and Namibia (92) both won during their first time at the pageant. Others like Slovac Republic (94) also did great, finishing in the top 6. China’s first delegate seems like a sensible pick to continue this tradition. She placed very well in the preliminary swimsuit competition.

USA: This unconventional beauty hasn’t really played well with me from the start. But in fairness to her one must recognize her ability to project on stage.  She has very good presence add that to the long line of other Miss USA’s that have gone before her and you definitely can’t count her into the top 10.

Nigeria: Last year’s delegate from Nigeria really got her country noticed, especially after she went on to win Miss World. This year Nigeria has sent another strong contender.  Some photos of her a good some are not so her getting in will pretty much depend on what the judges seem fit.
